By processmind he means an earth-based experience of the universal state of consciousness that, he argues, pervades all reality. It is perhaps our most basic, least known, and greatest power, combining the nonlocality of modern physics with altered states of consciousness found in peak experiences. What makes this book unique is that it offers some experience of this mind-state to the reader. Mindell does so by connecting cosmic patterns seen in physics with experiences occurring in psychology and world spiritual traditions. In the mid-1970s, Arny Mindell developed process work, or what is now known as process oriented psychology (p.o.p.). By the 1990s, had you started with Taoism, physics, and Jungian psychology? Arny's current study and practice has resulted in process-oriented Ecology, which combines large-group conflict resolution with environmental concerns. Mindell co-founded the original school of process oriented psychology in Zurich, Switzerland in the early 1980s with his wife, Amy, and their numerous colleagues in Portland and across the world. The Mindells now consult and work as facilitators for groups, cities, and governments all around the world on community and conflict issues.

They work in various areas across the world and teach process work, personal therapy, and classes in their hometown of Portland, Oregon. Dreambody, The Shaman's Body, Sitting in the Fire, and Quantum Mind are among Mindell's works.
