1871. No Edition Remarks. 416 pages. No dust jacket. Purple cloth with gilt lettering. Contains a black and white illustrated plates. Pages are moderately tanned with noticeable foxing throughout. Cracking to hinges and gutters, causing binding to be slightly loose. Water marks to front free endpaper. Pencil inscription to rear pastedown. Deckled text block edges. Thumb-marking present throughout. Minor pen and pencil annotations throughout. Boards have been heavily rub worn with noticeable shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a noticeably frayed and spine ends are crushed, with some small splits and large chips. Splitting to spine joints and ends. Heavy tanning to spine and edges. Boards are a little bowed. Book has a noticeable forward lean. Moderate water marks to boards and spine.
