Volume I stated to spine, however there are no other mentions throughout the book. Moderate tanning and foxing to pages, heavier tanning to pastedowns and endpapers. Mild cracking to front hinge, binding throughout remains firm. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Small area of loss to fore edge of pages 33 and 38-39, repaired with white tape. Text is not affected. Numerous text corrections throughout. Noticeable water marks with brown staining throughout. Bottom-right corner of page no. 17 is chipped. Boards have visible edge wear with corner bumping. Minor tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is darkened. Leather peeling slightly to edges and corners. Book is slightly bowed and forward leaning.
