Each book builds reading confidence, stamina and speed and nurtures a love for reading. Fluency 1 books have a word count of 2880 words with an expected reading rate of 60 words per minute. Will they manage to fix the drawbridge in time for the big festival?I really like stories where children are empowered to make or invent things; stories about florists and carpenters and scientists and hairdressers and painters and potters. My son is a blacksmith and I love seeing metal reshaped into something amazing and interesting. Pretty much every book I write has magic or fantasy in it, so in this story I had to have a dragon too!
