The Cut Flower Sourcebook by Rachel Siegfried
Growing your own flowers for cutting brings the seasons indoors and cuts out air miles. This book focuses on 128 perennial plants which return year after year with little effort or waste, offer valuable habitats to garden wildlife, and have a more natural feel in arrangements.
Rachel has worked in horticulture for 25 years and has experience in design, landscaping , nursery work and productive horticulture. In 2008 she founded Green and Gorgeous, a flower farm and floral design studio in Oxfordshire. Here, she and her partner Ashley Pearson grow hundreds of varieties, carefully selected for their cut flower credentials, on four acres of land. The flowers they produce are sold directly to the public through their farm shop, used for wedding work and as teaching material in their popular workshops. Rachel's gardening background brings a unique perspective which puts seasonality and sustainability front and centre of her work.
