Miller, Alan S.: - Alan S. Miller served as a professor of social psychology in the Department of Behavioral Sciences at Hokkaido University, Japan, before his death in 2003. He has also worked for the Environmental Sciences wing of the Science Applications International Corporation. Miller earned his Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Washington, and he is the author of over twenty-five articles in academic journals concerned with the areas of crime and deviant behavior, religion, and comparative social psychology,
