RUTH WARINER is an author who lives in Portland, Oregon. Ruth moved to California at the age of fifteen from Colonia LeBaron, a polygamist Mormon community where she grew up. In California and Oregon, she raised her three younger sisters. She put herself through college and graduate school after receiving her GED, finally becoming a high school Spanish teacher. She is happily married and has good ties with her siblings. Her debut novel is titled The Sound of Gravel.
