This is an account of Wilfred Thesiger's life and is a study of his motivations and achievements. The book is based upon interviews with Thesiger, and the author has also followed in his footsteps, interviewing many former travelling companions and throwing light on the Arabian expeditions.Michael Asher has served in the SAS and the Parachute Regiment. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and has received the Royal Geographical Society's Ness Award and the Royal Scottish Geographical Society's Mungo Park Medal for Exploration.
