Brita Granstrom's illustrations have won numerous accolades, including the Smarties/Nestlé Silver Award and the English Association Picture Book Award (five times), as well as being nominated for the ALMA (Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award) on two occasions. Brita's personal memories of working as a volunteer for a flying doctor in Africa assist to give her illustrations for the 'Five Flamingos' books authenticity as well as fun.
