Gravity Payments was started by Dan Price when he was only 19 years old. His objective was--and continues to be--to make credit card processing clear, fair, and simple for hardworking small business owners to stay competitive against larger businesses. Gravity is the processor of choice for approximately 20,000 independent businesses in all 50 states. Dan made headlines when he opted to decrease his income by more than 90% and raise the company's basic salary to $70,000 per year in 2015. Despite being chastised for what some see as extreme wage and equality practices, Dan believes that businesses, regardless of industry, have immense capacity to promote social good by serving communities rather than shareholders and prioritizing people above profits.
His leadership has garnered him numerous accolades, including Entrepreneur Magazine's 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year and President Obama's 2010 SBA National Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Mikey, his rescue dog, stays with him in Seattle.
