Aidan Chambers was a teacher of English before he became an author, publisher and writer on reading and literature. He is best known for the sequence of YA novels that began with Breaktime in 1978 and concluded with This Is All: The Pillow Book of Cordelia Kenn, published in 2005. He has won the Carnegie Medal and the hugely prestigious international Hans Christian Andersen Award. He lives in Gloucestershire.
