Brutalist Paris by Robin Wilson

Brutalist Paris is the first thoroughly researched, English language study of Parisian brutalist architecture. It constructs a unique photographic record of over 50 buildings across Paris and brings a new interpretation of brutalism in the French context. The book is the result of many journeys, from the Parisian centre to its outer peripheries, and situates brutalism within the broader social, political and cultural context of Paris. It describes brutalism's successes and failures in Paris, from an architecture of monumental urban form to intricately crafted living spaces; from valued, historic monuments to abandoned ruins

Robin Wilson's thesis on number theory earned him a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a former Fellow of Keble College, Oxford University, and an Emeritus Professor of Pure Mathematics at the Open University. He is also an Emeritus Professor of Geometry at Gresham College, London. He is also a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics. He has published and edited over 40 books on the subject, including Lewis Carroll in Numberland (Penguin, 2008), Four Colors Suffice (Princeton University Press, 2009), Combinatorics: A Very Short Introduction (OUP, 2016), and Euler's Pioneering Equation (OUP, 2018). He has received the Lester Ford award and the Pólya prize from the Mathematical Society of America for his excellent expository writing, as well as the Stanton Medal from the Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications for his outreach initiatives in combinatorics. Erdos 1 is his number.
