The Provence Cookbook by Patricia Wells
Provence is a delight for culinary adventurers, a region known for its vineyards and markets. Patricia Wells--author of The Paris Cookbook and Bistro Cooking--now calls Provence home, and The Provence Cookbook is an intimate guide to the culinary pleasures of the region.
With more than 200 recipes and 75 duotone photographs, it evokes the atmosphere, tastes, and sights of this surpassingly lush, bountiful area. Also included are a guide to local markets, profiles of farmers and vendors, wine pairings and visits to Provence's lively vineyards, and recommendations for food shops and purveyors as well as restaurants, potters, and other local artisans.
Wells, Patricia: - Patricia Wells accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday (Resurrection Sunday) 1968 after a Sunday lesson from John 3:16. From an early age, she has always been very passionate about helping the aging and the sick; she voluntarily ran errands for the elderly and visited the sick in her community. Patricia felt that was her call in life. At the age of 16 she registered to join the military upon graduation; however, due to her ongoing health issues, she did not pass the physical examination. Shortly after failing the physical she was contacted by the Veteran's Administration Hospital to start in a training program which was created to help fill the nursing shortage. Fifty plus years later, Patricia is still passionate about helping those who are sick. She has made it her life's work and her ministry to pray for the sick. She has volunteered in the local hospital serving in their chaplain services visiting the sick and praying for their health and healing. She proudly shares her own victory report of how she overcame a respiratory condition which often caused her to be rushed to the hospital. Patricia became sick-n-tired of being sick.
