The Collected Essays, Journalism and Letters: v. 3: As I Please, 1943-1945 George Orwell
This third volume covers the months during the war when Orwell was employed as literary editor of "Tribune". The new freedom he experienced was expressed in the title and style of the regular feature he contributed "As I Please". "Animal Farm" was written during this period, and was refused by three publishers, and the book also includes his brief period as a war correspondent after the Second Front.
