About the Authors

Philip's Stargazing Month by Month 2018 is written by two of the UK's best-known and respected astronomers.

Professor Heather Couper CBE, FRAS, is an internationally acclaimed astronomer, writer and presenter/producer of TV and radio programmes.

Professor Nigel Henbest researched in radio astronomy at Cambridge University, with the Astronomer Royal, and has been a Consultant to both New Scientist magazine and the Royal Greenwich Observatory.

Über Heather Couper

Professor Heather Couper CBE, BSc, DLit, DSc, FInstP, CPhys, FRAS is a past President of both the British Astronomical Association and the Society for Popular Astronomy. Asteroid 3922 Heather is named in her honour. She is a former Millennium Commissioner, for which she was awarded the CBE in 2007. Nigel Henbest has been Astronomy Consultant to New Scientist magazine, Editor of the Journal of the British Astronomical Association, and Media Consultant to the Royal Greenwich Observatory. He is also a Future Astronaut with Virgin Galactic.
