The letters Walter and Mary Richardson wrote to each other between 1854 and 1877 depict a loving relationship between a man and a woman that was both mutual and enduring. For this edition, the letters have been carefully transcribed, and, as far as possible, rearranged in correct sequence. They are the parents of Henry Handel Richardson.
