Graham Greene trained himself to wake four or five times during a night to record his dreams in a diary over a 25 year period. Before his death in 1991, he prepared this diary for publication together with a specially written introduction. Always deeply interested in the role played by the subscious in his writing his method of working was to write 2000 words a day from breakfast onwards and then to re-read what he had written every evening leaving his subconscious to do the work overnight. This would enable him to overcome a block, change a story or provide him with ideas. Sometimes he even dreamt the dreams of his fictional characters. This book, therefore, provides readers with an insight into the life and imagination of Graham Greene.
