Some bereaved survivors plot desperate measures. - The Mall, a veritable Temple reflecting the town's most deeply held values ---- and virtually its only source of tax revenues ---- is still upscale after fifty years in operation, but now in need of a refreshed lifestyle merchandising component. Unfortunately, however, no land for such a complementary addition is now legally available. And if all that were not bad enough for one novel, a Special 50th Anniversary edition of the local Weekly Weekender is threatened by theft of the newspaper's historical archives. A young female reporter assigned to the story must therefor reconstruct twenty-odd years of coverage, possibly at great personal danger. Who stole the newspaper records, and why?
